Top 10 Cameroonian Bloggers by Kum Eric Tso
Today we will look at the Top 10 Cameroonian bloggers. It is rather unusual of me to write this type of posts and in case you’re wondering why I chose to write on the top 10 Cameroonian bloggers, the reason is simple: First and foremost, I am a Cameroonian blogger myself. Secondly, the Cameroonian bloggosphere is rapidly growing with its numerous popular Cameroon news blogs, Cameroon fashion blogs, how to blogs, make money online blogs, Cameroon food blogs, Cameroon football blogs, etc. Lastly, I think the Cameroonian internet marketing and web building sectors are equally growing in a robust pace.

In case you’re also wondering where or what Cameroon is
Cameroon (/ˌkæməˈruːn/; French: Cameroun), officially the Republic of Cameroon (French: République du Cameroun), is a country in Central Africa. It is bordered by Nigeria to the west; Chad to the northeast; the Central African Republic to the east; and Equatorial Guinea, Gabon and the Republic of the Congo to the south. Cameroon’s coastline lies on the Bight of Biafra, part of the Gulf of Guinea and the Atlantic Ocean. (Wikipedia)
We can’t talk about bloggers without understanding what a blog or blogging is.
Why is it called a blog?
‘A blog is a website in which items are posted on a regular basis and displayed in reverse chronological order. The term blog is a shortened form of weblog or web log. Authoring a blog, maintaining a blog or adding an article to an existing blog iscalled “blogging”. Problogger
A blog originally came from the word “weblog” or a “web log”. You can think of it as an online journal or diary, although blogs are used for much more now, like online journalism.
Who is a blogger?
A blogger is someone who blogs, or writes content for a blog. Blogging is the act of writing a post for a blog.
Blogging Is A Way to Run A Business. When it comes down to it, a blog is just a website. It allows you to communicate with an audience and spread a message. Today, many people are running their entire businesses on blogs.
- Choose a blogging platform, domain name, and hosting option.
- Design your blog using a simple theme.
- Modify your blog to get your desired look and feel.
- Select the best plugins for your blog.
- Write compelling content that adds value to readers.
(I will discuss more on blogging in the upcoming days)

We will look at the top 10 Cameroonian bloggers based on a number of factors. And by that, I mean we will follow the following characteristics of a great blogger according to Stay on Search.
1. Industry Knowledge
Not only is understanding the industry from a concept/fundamental standpoint important, but having real life experiences is essential for any great blogger.
2. Passionate
Great bloggers must be passionate about what they are writing about. I truly believe if you are writing about things you are not interested or knowledgeable in, it will show in your writing and to your readers.
3. Writing Background/Experience
Of course, if you have a writing background or you have acquired good writing skills through years of experience, it will help keep your posts engaging and more enjoyable. Using proper grammar, descriptive verbiage, and compelling headlines can keep readers engaged in your content longer.
4. Organized
A great blogger should be very well organized. Especially bloggers who write for a number of different blogs, it will be important to plan and manage your writing schedules.
5. Strong Work Ethic
Having a strong work ethic turns good bloggers into great bloggers. Someone that is able to stick to a schedule, exceed personal goals and expectations, and push themselves, will stand out from the crowd.
6. Network/Industry Reach
A blogger that has a large network and is known in the industry will make it much easier to promote their content. As we all know, even if you write great content, you still need to promote it. If you have built personal relationships with industry influencers, it can help earn credibility personally and for your blog.
7. SEO Knowledge
Having basic SEO knowledge is a plus for any blogger. Bloggers who understand the benefits of good keyword research, how to promote content, and maximizing the potential of each post, will gain a larger readership in a shorter amount of time.
8. Goes Against the Grain
To be a great blogger you need to sometimes go against what everyone else is doing and do something that is away from “the norm”. Coming up with unique ways to stand out from the crowd is a way that great bloggers get found. It could be a post, design-related, new way of promotion, unique content delivery, or something that has never been done before in the industry.
9. Social Butterfly
Generally bloggers spend a good amount of time on social networks like Twitter, Facebook and Linkedin. Being active on various social networks and engaging with people on a regular basis will help bloggers get noticed.
10. Enjoys Sharing and Helping
Great bloggers genuinely enjoy helping others. Many bloggers blog because they want to showcase their knowledge in the industry. Of course that is part of why people blog, but it should not be the only reason. Gaining satisfaction out of helping others in your industry is a trait that all great bloggers have.

Hey there! I’m a Cameroonian blogger as well and found your site while browsing to check if there are any platforms that recognise Cameroonian bloggers. I did not know most of the blogs in your top 10 list, but it’s always nice to find new sites. I did find it very hard to locate/read this post due to tonnes of adverts/ pop ups on your site. Even took a while for me to comment, as the site kept reloading adverts. Nonetheless, keep on writing ?

Nice attempt to list top 10 blogs in Cameroon. However, almost all the sites” that you mentioned except maybe two or three are news sites and are NOT blogs. Most of them have a staff of writers and update their sites constantly like 24/7.
A blog is very different and just because people have websites with information doesnt automatically make it a blog so it’s unfair to categorize News sites with blogs. Je Wanda is a Blog. It is one of the Top Cameroonian blogs and you didnt list it. Makes me wonder if you were paid by these sites to list them as top 10. Just my 2 cents
Anyway, nice job on your site in general as it’s quite informative. Like the person who commented above, its very hard to comment via cellphone with so many ads popping up left and right so i had to log into my computer to comment here.
Thanks for the feedback. As for the classification, I think you may consider viewing the title and my concluding statement again. It indicates that I didn’t just list blogs but more. The classification criteria is also stated. on the other side, I have learnt some great facts from your comment. Also, I need Cameroonian bloggers to start guest posting.
Sorry for the ads, just some short term testing.
