Why is my website URL blocked on Facebook? How can I unblock it?

To be sincere with you, it is very difficult to ascertain why Facebook blocks URL from sharing content on the site.

If you search on the internet of why Facebook blocked your URL, you’ll discover that some experts are of the opinion that you may have been blocked because you might have overshared your content on the site.

Whereas others are of the opinion that you may have shared high sensitive contents.

Or that you may have shared contents that contain nudes.

And the rest….

Well if Facebook banned your URL from sharing content or interacting with the giant social networking platform, there are ways you could go about appealing it.

Let’s quickly consider one of the ways you can easily utilize to contact the Facebook support center or engineers for blocked URLs.

Before I proceed, let me advise that it pertinent you don’t share content you know won’t implicate your URL or account. Because these days, once Facebook blacklists your account or URL and blocked either of them, believe you, it is always very difficult to get it restored.

I have experienced it and I know what I passed through.

Blocked URL ON FACEBOOK

Once Facebook blocked your URL, you will not be able to share anything on Facebook and believe you me that if your website is related to Facebook articles or you get a large sum of your traffic from the site, it can be so frustrating.

The worst of it all is that they will automatically wipe everything concerning the blocked URL from the site and you’ll be experiencing zero traffic.

And if you belong to the easy to give up groups of individuals, you might end up giving up on blogging.

How To Appeal Blocked URL on Facebook

The process involved in appealing the blocked URL on Facebook is very simple. However, you’ll need to be selective in terms of the languages i.e. word choices you use in writing to the Facebook engineers. To contact the Facebook help center for blocked URL, do the following:

  1. First off, you’ll need to visit the Facebook for developers site via this URL; Sharing Debugger – Facebook for Developers?
  2. Now, enter your blocked URL in the space provided and click on the debug button to ascertain what is really wrong with your URL
  3. Next, if a message like this one: “We can’t review this website because the content doesn’t meet our Community Standards. If you think this is a mistake, please let us know.” comes up, click on the “let us know link” so you can be taken to where you can write to the Facebook engineers.
  4. Once the page opens up, explain what happened to your URL in the box. Make sure you include some part of the URL in the write-up. Make it detailed and once you’re done, click on the submit button and your issue will be subject to review by the Facebook team and once an action is taken, you’ll be notified of the latest development on your URL via Facebook support inbox.

How To Get Blocked URL Back On Facebook Fast

Facebook is a very large social networking site with over 2.2 billion active monthly users.

Considering that, writing to the engineers just once about blocked URL may not resolve the issue owing to the fact that a lot of users may have been trying to get the same issue resolved on their own end.

Thus, it is necessary, you write to the Facebook engineers about your blocked URL on a regular basis.

Do that until they see and respond to your message and if possible attend to it and get it solved.

So to get back your blocked URL on Facebook FAST, to a very large extent, you’ll need to spam them with a series of messages.

In other words, write to them at least thrice in a day and believe you me that they will attend to your issue very fast.

That is it on how to appeal to Facebook on blocked URL.

Second Answer by Loukas Koropoulis, 8+ years in finance and more than 20 years around computers. I make quizzes for Quizonary.com

A couple of days ago I was on the same boat as the OP, along with thousands of users who are constantly getting beaten up by the Facebook bot and have their posts flagged as inappropriate.

I had been sharing quizzes from my website on Facebook on a daily basis for more than two months when I suddenly realized that Facebook had shadow-banned my page. I was even using the ads manager, promoting my posts for more than a month and still, one day I received the infamous

We can’t review this website because the content doesn’t meet our Community Standards. If you think this is a mistake, please let us know.

What an eye-watering message from Facebook, I can tell you that! Needless to say that I searched online for a solution and used all debugging/feedback/reporting tools I came across.

I was 100% certain that my page was not violating any “community standards” but still, every effort returned the same message as above.

And then I found out about the live chat option and within a couple of hours, the problem disappeared.

To cut a long story short, in order to reach the live support for pages take these easy steps:

  1. visit Facebook for businesses
  2. click on support on the top right corner
  3. scroll down a bit until you come across “Find answers or contact support” and click on “Get Started
  4. choose business pages
  5. scroll all the way down to the bottom and click on “Chat with a representative
  6. and finally, describe your problem by choosing some predefined fields and hit “Start Chat”.

When I finally got to chat with a representative he told me that there was no obvious problem on his end which was quite relieving. He also told me that he would pass on the issue to the “team” to look into this and that he would contact me by phone or email in case they needed anything.

It turned out that it was a glitch or something because in less than 2–3 hours the problem was gone and everything went back to normal.

Now I know that I was not breaching any terms and that’s why I was assured I could find a solution. If you know that too, and believe me, you know it even though you might have never read the “community standards”, you should reach to the live support. Don’t get caught up with reporting tools as it may take a long time for them to get back to you (if they do).

Hope you find this post useful.
